A law firm seeks an experienced and self-motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team remotely in San Jose, CA. Duties

  1. Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including bodily injury claims, construction defects, and employment-related litigation
  2. Develop and implement legal strategies, with the freedom to litigate cases in a way that reflects your style and expertise
  3. Conduct depositions, draft and argue motions, and represent clients in hearings and trials
  4. Negotiate settlements and manage case progression from start to finish
  5. Provide excellent client service, offering timely updates and transparent communication throughout the case
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive case strategies and efficient workflow
  7. Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines
  8. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to insurance defense

Requirements

  1. Experience in insurance defense, with a focus on bodily injury, construction defects, and employment law
  2. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  3. Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
  4. Proven experience in managing cases independently, from initiation through resolution
  5. Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills
  6. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  7. Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software

Education

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  1. Active membership in the California State Bar
  2. Additional state bar memberships are a plus

Skills

  1. Strong written and oral communication skills
