The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented executive to join HP’s Print Strategy & Transformation team, part of the newly created HP Global Strategy function. This team of strategy professionals is widely respected across HP and regarded as a seeding ground for HP’s future leaders. We work as a 'meritocracy' that appeals to and rewards high achievers. The Print Strategy leader will leverage prior experience in management consulting / corporate strategy to influence the strategic direction for the Print business and select Divisions. They will apply structured problem solving and deliver data-driven, synthesized insights to identify and evaluate market segments, products, and business models that drive Print business growth in current, emerging, and new opportunity areas. They will collaborate with and influence senior executives to build consensus and secure commitment for priority initiatives. They will work with the various business and finance teams to translate strategy into financial plans.

The Print Strategy leader will have extensive engagement with the Print business leadership team, including Division Presidents and key functional leaders, and their extended leadership teams. They will be responsible for communicating Print and Division strategies at key forums.


A successful leader in this role must drive for results with integrity, seek stakeholder-focused solutions, and bring a balance to long- and short-term priorities. The person must be able to work in a collaborative environment; be a self-starter and feel comfortable in an ambiguous, constantly evolving, fast-moving environment of shared accountability.

  • Be a thought leader and influencer at the most senior levels within HP
  • Lead key strategic projects that have business-wide implications on the various business segments and their own unique strategies

  • Deliver analytically rigorous and data-driven insights to support actionable strategic recommendations, business prioritization, and business strategy communications

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HP business unit leaders
  • Superior strategic and analytical skills with ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations
  • Simultaneously manage multiple strategy initiatives
  • Superior communication (written/verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills in a team setting, including extended teams where members are often not direct reports
  • Intellectual agility and the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex concepts

Education And Experience

  • MBA or demonstrable equivalent
  • Total experience of 10+ years in areas such as strategy, business planning, product, or category management
  • Ideally, experience in leadership roles including time spent in both strategy and corporate development roles
  • Must be an excellent developer of high-powered strategy teams
  • Experience in the Tech industry, including software, XaaS, managed services offerings and/or subscription-based business models and solutions go-to-market
  • Ideal candidate will have experience gained at regional and global levels
  • The individual should have a track record of driving change and transformation and have demonstrated experience in large scale project execution
  • Should have the ability and desire to take on broad strategic operational assignments as part of future development
  • Experience presenting to senior executive audiences
  • Superior strategic and analytical skills with ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is$220,000.00 -- $280,000.00annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
