A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a highly experienced Employment Litigation Of Counsel to join their esteemed team. The successful candidate will have 9+ years of experience in employment litigation, including significant first-chair experience managing and running litigation cases. This role involves defending and litigating a broad range of employment-related claims, advising and training employers on various employment and labor law issues, and representing employers in various forums. The ideal candidate will possess a JD from an accredited law school, excellent academic credentials, and current CA Bar admission. Class action and PAGA experience is preferred.
Duties:
- Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
- Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Represent employers in court and arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters.
- Manage and oversee litigation cases in a first-chair capacity, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals, including delegating assignments, providing feedback, and ensuring high-quality work product.
- Stay current on changes in employment law and agency procedures (both state and federal) and their implications for clients.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies and solutions to address complex employment law issues.
- Maintain meticulous case documentation and ensure timely responses to all legal proceedings and deadlines.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver comprehensive legal services and support.
Requirements:
- JD degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- 9+ years of experience in employment litigation with significant first-chair experience managing and running litigation cases.
- Class action and PAGA experience preferred.
- Proven ability to defend and litigate a wide range of employment-related claims and agency charges.
Education:
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
