Job Description
The Sandblaster is responsible for the sandblast cabinet and booth. Both preparation and sandblast operations. Maintaining flow throughput and blast equipment. This is a climate-controlled environment. Primary function: Prep and Sandblast, review work orders and quantities & part numbers. May review parts for damage or defects. Adhere to Material Traceability requirements. Make proper labor and time reports. Work in a clean and orderly fashion to maintain area standards of 5S. Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•Ability to read work orders.
•Basic computer skills are a must.
•Six months related experience and 1 year minimum On the Job Training or an equivalent combination.
•Must be able to lift 35lbs, kneel, twist, bend, push/pull material carts. The PPE is provided except steel toes shoes. Once an employee is hired and on staff for 6 months then the can John Crane will purchase safety shoes for the employee (up to S100 every six months or $200 per year. The sandblast position, has to wear hearing protection (no earbuds), safety glasses, steel toed boots, hood and gloves.
