Job Title: Dual Modality CT/DX Technologist Job Specialty: CT and Diagnostic Radiology Job Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Hospital Experience Preferred License: ARRT(R) Certifications: ARRT(CT), BLS (AHA or ARC) Must-Have: - Experience in both CT and Diagnostic Radiology - Proficiency with CT scanners and associated equipment - Ability to follow radiation safety guidelines - Skills in infection control Job Description: - Perform procedures according to departmental protocols and standards. - Operate CT scanners and associated equipment efficiently, including scanners, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, oxygen and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment. - Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient, consult radiologist on discrepancies, and contact ordering provider when necessary. - Properly identify patients using two identifiers, assist them, and provide a brief explanation of procedures. - Prepare patients for procedures with detailed explanations and complete appropriate worksheets. - Interview patients for a complete medical history, review clinical history, and record relevant information. - Prepare and administer IV contrast according to protocols, and document contrast type and amount. - Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a radiologist if needed. - Recognize abnormal anatomy, process additional images, and perform measurements as instructed. - Inform nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiate life support measures when necessary. - Assist in emergency procedures and code blue situations. - Perform CT scanning and assist radiologist/PA during invasive procedures while maintaining sterile technique. - Follow isolation and infection control protocols during all invasive procedures. - Identify malfunctioning equipment and report issues to department management and engineering teams. - Use the radiology computer system for entering orders and charging procedures/supplies. - Document contrast administration in the MAR and maintain a tidy work area. - Assist other medical personnel during exams or services in conjunction with CT scans.
