Below are some of the responsibilities the Automation Tester may be expected to assume in their position:
- Perform various types of testing including but not limited to smoke, functional, regression, integration, ad-hoc, positive, and negative tests and report defects.
- Participate in daily scrum stand-ups, defect calls, UAT and project status meetings.
- Use Java and Selenium WebDriver within the automation environment
- Implement Page Object Model Automation framework with Java and Selenium WebDriver.
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective strategies and test plans
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing and manage the defect database.
- Must attempt to understand the customer, to “be in their” shoes, in order value the importance of the product being delivered
- Must take care of and encourage other team members
- Must deliver software that meets or exceeds customer expectations, verified during sprint reviews
The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
- Must currently reside in the US.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of recent experience with Java or C#, and Selenium.
- 2+ years of recent experience programming automated scripts using Java or C#.
- 2+ years of experience with functional testing, regression testing, performance testing or system integration testing, supporting user acceptance testing
- 2+ years of experience with test automation tools, open source test automation frameworks, including Selenium
- 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies and sprint-based testing cycles
- Knowledge of DevOps and automation frameworks, including Jenkins
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred for this job
- Knowledge of scripting languages, including PowerShell, Bash
- Experience in the Federal Government, Veterans Affairs, or Healthcare IT sectors
- Ability to work effectively independently and on diverse teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to adapt in a fast–paced and changing environment
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possession of excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
