The Senior Cisco Network Engineer is a pivotal role, providing operational knowledge and support to the Command-and-Control Support System (C2S2) networks. This role encompasses designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting an extensive network infrastructure, acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple enclaves with varying security classifications.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include maintaining, installing, updating, and securing network environments using a wide range of Cisco products, such as Cisco IOS, routers, Layer 2 switches, Access Layer switches, ISE, Firepower, and ACI. The engineer will also manage other critical network components like F5, Palo Alto, VMware NSX, SPLUNK, and ServiceNow. This role requires leading projects with minimal oversight, ensuring all network devices and applications are patched, secure, and operating efficiently. The Senior Cisco Network Engineer will perform DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) validations, manage cable systems, develop workflows for Cisco-based assets, and utilize ACAS to monitor security postures. They will also collaborate with developers to identify and develop necessary workflows within ServiceNow. Duties also include configuring and reconfiguring network applications, maintaining LAN/WAN environments, managing network security, and processing IT service requests and trouble tickets. The engineer is expected to create and maintain detailed network diagrams and SOPs, manage the lifecycle of network devices, and provide comprehensive monthly status reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)-appointed Technical Assistant (TA). Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required to support both scheduled and unscheduled service outages, ensuring the continuous operation and security of networks. Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance. IAW DoD 8140.03-M, must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications. Must have a current Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) certification. Must possess ONE of the following 8570 IAT-II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+ (Cybersecurity Analyst), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification), Security+ CE, SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner). Minimum High School Diploma/GED. At least 5 years of DoD network engineering experience or 8 years total of network engineering experience. Must have experience managing Cisco Routers and Switches. Must have experience managing Cisco firewalls - Firepower. Must have experience managing Cisco ACI and ISE. Must have experience managing Palo Alto firewalls. Must have experience utilizing SPLUNK, ACAS, WhatsUpGold. Must have experience managing F5. Must have experience supporting VMware NSX. Must have significant experience using Microsoft Visio. Experience using Microsoft Office tools (word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint, etc....). Must be able to carry 40 pounds due to installations. Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekend work as required to support both scheduled and unscheduled service outages.
Pay Range
$138,000 - $153,000 Benefits
