Central Valley Indian Health is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Data Analyst/ EHR Coordinator. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the EMR Project Manager with the management of the electronic health records for all departments and clinics. This position provides technical support to all staff, provides training to employees, analyzes & develops reports, and assists the EHR Project Manager with on-going projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the EHR Project Manager to support the seamless execution of continuous projects related to electronic health records. Assist in project planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring the achievement of project objectives. Provide adept technical assistance and troubleshooting support to medical and dental staff using EHR applications. Ensure the swift resolution of technical issues, maintaining uninterrupted access to electronic health records. Develop & conduct comprehensive, tailored trainings to enhance staff proficiency in EHR system utilization. Keep training materials up-to-date, reflecting the latest improvements and changes. Analyze and generate organizational reports related to EHR systems. Create quality measure reports that provide actionable insights for staff and administrators. Collaborate with the EHR Project Manager and Administrators to implement solutions and improve workflows. Ensure clinical processes align with best practices and regulatory requirements. Prepare and deliver routine status reports on ongoing projects to management and staff. Summarize project progress, milestones, and challenges faced, ensuring transparent communication. Keep stakeholders informed about the status of EHR initiatives. Assist the EHR Project Manager in gathering and submitting reports related to GPRA/HEDIS and other health measures. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines, maintaining accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with the EHR Project Manager to address issues impacting reporting integrity. Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring the timely completion of deliverables. Collaborate with the Project Manager to establish realistic timelines for project milestones. Proactively identify potential delays and implement strategies to mitigate risks. Utilize remote command entry to observe EHR system functionality for routine operations and error detection. Utilize the ticketing system to log, prioritize, and manage IT EHR requests from CVIH staff. Support timely resolution of issues in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs). Provide status updates on active tickets to end-users. Uphold and enforce all agency policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA), and industry standards. Any other duties assigned to the employee by direct supervisor or CVIH Administration. Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, Bachelor's degree preferred. Significant practical experience (5 years or more) in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree. Working knowledge of computer hardware, software and wiring. Strong knowledge of EHR systems, healthcare workflows, and clinical operations. Familiarity with EHR software and interoperability standards (e.g., eCW, HL7, CDA). Valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record with the ability to be insured under CVIH's automobile insurance. An awareness and keen appreciation of, or willingness to learn, Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs. Ability to meet and deal effectively with Indian Health Organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures. Tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
