Description
Central Valley Indian Health is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner that is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to our patients. The Nurse Practitioner evaluates and treats patients of all ages for full spectrum family practice care. This is a full-time position at our Bullard Clinic (Bullard/ 168), Monday through Friday from 8:30-5:30. Loan repayment or forgiveness options available through NHSC & IHS. Travel to our outlying clinics (Prather, North Fork, and Lemoore) for coverage may be required on occasion. Mileage reimbursement or a company vehicle is available, and no overnight travel.
Section 1: Patient Care Provide, and assure other clinic staff provide, quality medical services to all patients treated by the clinic, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals to specialists, prescriptions, etc. Promote continuity of care through health instruction and coordination with Primary Care Physicians. Ensure that a licensed nurse is present whenever medical services are provided. Assist in quality assurance protocols, adherence to Licensing, Accreditation, IHS and any other required standards under the direction of the Medical Director.
Section 2: Communication and Interaction Provide thorough and timely documentation of all patient visits, phone calls, etc. Maintain recordkeeping standards as defined by the Medical Director in the use of electronic medical records. Ensure ongoing and clear communication between fellow providers, staff, and patients.
Section 3: Compliance Participate in the CVIH peer review program, pursuant to written procedures. Ensure productivity goals are met. Ensure compliance with CVIH Pharmacy Formulary. Ensure and maintain clinic schedule compliance. Maintain Code of Conduct for Health Care Compliance.
Section 4: Other Participate in the annual review and approval of all Medical protocols used by the clinic. Attend clinic committees as assigned. Acquire & maintain credentialing with insurances contracted with CVIH for patient care. Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others. Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and outside contacts. Any other duties assigned to the employee by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH Administration.
Requirements
Valid/ clean CA Nurse Practitioner license. Board certification in Family Medicine. Current DEA & ACLS. Three years family medicine experience preferred, one year experience required. Clearance from the National practitioners Data Bank, the California Medical Board and the Office of Inspector General Exclusion List. Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record with the ability to be insured under CVIH's automobile insurance. This is a "safety sensitive" position and as such, is subject to random drug testing and is required as a condition of continued employment. Awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs, or willingness to learn; an ability at times to meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures. Tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
