The Global Digital Group As part of the R&D organization of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Materials & Structural Analysis division, Digital group is committed to bring groundbreaking software solutions to support our customers success. The Digital Team is a multi-site group divided over multiple sites in Eindhoven (the Netherlands), Bordeaux (France), Hillsboro (US), Brno (Czech). In Eindhoven our teams consist of around 85 software engineers, responsible for end-user application software for (TEM) Transmission Electron Microscopes and especially around data acquisition and processing. Our software applications are essential into exploiting all the potential of these microscopes, pushing the limits of current physical technologies. These applications are used by scientists and engineers in life science, material sciences and semiconductor industry, indirectly affecting our life in many aspects. By improving these applications, your contribution will help to develop better vaccines, new lighter and stronger materials, or more efficient semiconductors. Examples are automated tomography, single particle acquisition, and our semiconductors automated metrology/measurements at nanometer scale.
How will you make an impact? We have a position for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in the Digital applications group to streamline and guide the value delivery of our single particle acquisition workflow! You will be part of the software team in Eindhoven but you will also have close cooperation with the advanced technology department and the software teams in Bordeaux (France) or Brno (Czech) as they are part of the delivering teams towards the single particle acquisition workflow. The software technologies involved are mixed. Some key words are .NET/C#, REST api, microservices, Docker, DevOps, Python. The single particle acquisition workflow is based around our TEM microscope platform aiming to improve image quality and bring more ease-of-use to our customers. Your assignment will be a mixture of the following activities: Manage and lead the SPA workflow software delivery program by steering the ART with the Product Manager and the Architect Facilitate SAFe ceremonies like PI planning Tracking of the execution of the features and capabilities. Manage risk and dependencies Teach the basics of Agile, Scrum and SAFe Support the PM and POs in doing the right things Coach and empower the Scrum Master on their team role Regularly synchronize with other RTEs to tackle common impediments
How will you get there? The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated technical problems. The successful candidate possesses the following combination of education and experience: Typically requires, BSc or MSc degree with at least 5 years of management experience in a software oriented environment (e.g. project leader or RTE). Proven ability to lead groups, manage project deliverables, and maintain stakeholder relationships Experienced with the Agile/Scrum development process. Certified in scrum or SAFE preferred Experienced as a change agent, driving relentless improvement. Used to coach pears in different roles (e.g. Scrum Masters and Product Owners). Good interpersonal skills, including teamwork and servant leadership Ability to understand the customer’s needs and translate it into actions/ projects. Experience in multi-cultural environments
Excellent interpersonal communications skills are required due to the high degree of interaction and collaboration (multi-site)! Good knowledge of English both written and verbal is a must have in this context.
