Reporting into the Site Director, the EHS Manager will be based out of Baltimore, MD .This position is responsible for standards and functions to reduce and prevent employee injuries, accidents, occupational illnesses and exposure to long-term health hazards, as well as reducing the environmental aspects and impacts associated with the company's operations. The prime objective is to protect and enhance the safety of our employees and our facilities operations environmental footprint and achieving best in class performance through prevention and promoting a culture where safety, health, and environment are a core value.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, guidance and direction to site leadership including performance assessments for all elements of EHS. Provide in-depth analysis of metrics and apply technical knowledge to improve site safety and environmental performance. Lead Safety, Environment and World Class Manufacturing as EHS subject matter expert. Work collaboratively with all levels of the organization; coach, train, and mentor Operation Leaders regarding site safety program requirements and expectations (High Collaborator). Implement programs, practices and procedures designed to reduce safety risks and environmental impact of manufacturing operations. Responsible for successfully managing health, safety and environmental compliance for the operation. Interface with regional and peer site safety personnel to lead initiatives, share learnings/ best practices and collaborate on execution plans. Manage and facilitate EHS local audits and corporate governance programs, site liaison for governmental & agency inspections. Manage EHS incident/injury reporting and recordkeeping requirements; ensure timely investigation and corrective action completion. Ensure site hazard/risk analysis/observation program is implemented as required. Partner cross-functionally to develop and deliver site EHS training strategy. Accountable for maintaining and reporting on key EHS metrics/KPIs for the site. Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation. Required Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in EHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, Science, or related field. 5 + years of combined experience in Environment, Health & Safety in a manufacturing setting, chemical setting preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to inspire with confidence in multiple layers of management from executive to engineering levels as a critical leader of Vibrantz on our Vision To Zero. Ability to form, lead, motivate, and direct a strong and effective team (Leaders Lead) Demonstrated knowledge and application of safety and environmental management systems. Preferred Experience
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods. Certified Safety Professional or other relevant certification.
