JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the Cancer Institute and the Huang Lab, in Hershey, PA is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor position.

Your duties in this position will include, but not limited to, conducting research project under mentor's supervision. It is anticipated you will help with setting up and maintaining the chromatin biology and gene expression laboratory, as well as training technicians and students with your expertise in the lab. In particular, you will focus on understanding the mechanism by which oncogene TAL1 and epigenetic cofactors cooperate to regulate hematopoietic development and how it becomes ectopically activated in leukemia and drives chromosomal translocation. The candidate should have previous experience on mouse colony handling and maintenance, as well as strong transgenic mice experience. Your performance will be reviewed annually.

Candidates should have obtained a PhD or an MD/PhD degree in the fields of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Science. The candidate should have evidence of prior productive scientific work in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience in gene transcriptional regulation, bioinformatics, or use of mouse models is preferred. Interested candidates should attach their Curriculum Vitae, a cover letter describing their background and research interests, as well as three letters of recommendation. This is a limited-term non-tenure line position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
