Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment is currently looking for a temporary Staff Accountant for a Client in Overland Park, KS. In this role you will be responsible for doing some cleanup and Maintenace including reviewing of journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting with month end. Our ideal candidate will have their Bachelor’s in Accounting and at least 3-5 years of Senior Accountant experience. This contract with be at least 1-2 months with potential for extension. Pay for this role starts at $30/hour and goes up based on experience. Read below for additional details!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Review and post journal entries

• Account reconciliation

• Prepare and maintain financial reports and statements.

• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Accountant experience

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., GreatPlains, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to communicate clearly and explain decisions. Research team questions and update with findings. Offer to help when caught up and know when to ask for help when behind.

• Ability to find solutions to existing and emergent problems that work with the team. Management reporting questions, reconciliation issues, or making time consuming tasks more efficient/accurate are some examples.
