Description Senior Account Executive Public Affairs Summary The Southwest Strategies Group is seeking a full-time, Senior Account Executive Public Affairs, to join our team. The Senior Account Executive Public Affairs (known internally as Senior Account Executive) is responsible for executing senior management and client vision including drafting communications and building relationships with key audiences; assists in business development by seeking new relationships for possible business opportunities. We are seeking an individual who is ready to support unique communications needs by developing tailored strategies and tactics that get results. We want strong writers and researchers those who enjoy jumping in and learning everything they can about a client or project. Position: Location and Travel: Roles hired in San Diego operate on a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days onsite in the San Diego Headquarters. Roles outside of San Diego are primarily remote with varying expectations of visits to satellite offices and clients. Travel is required up to 15-20% of the time. This role will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required. Salary Range: $67,000-$85,000 (dependent on experience) Responsibilities: Develop strategic communication programs that could include media relations, community relations, public affairs, social media, CEO positioning, etc. Oversee mix of small to large-scale communication-related projects, managing deliverables, budgets, timelines and teams to ensure expected outcomes are delivered on time and on budget Maintain an understanding of current public affairs and communications best practices, tactics and tools to provide strategic direction to clients Assist in the planning, development and execution of public affairs and outreach plans on a variety of different projects Prepare client research, media coverage and social media tracking; develop and implement social media campaigns Manage development of collateral materials , including creating content, coordinating with graphics on design elements and ensuring deadlines are met Create high quality internal and external communications , including fact sheets, client presentations, news releases, eblasts, message platforms, flyers, signage and any other content necessary for clients Develop consistent, creative and successful media pitches Plan, execute and represent clients at events in any way necessary (e.g., manning booths, staffing open houses) Build and maintain meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences Actively search for business opportunities by attending networking and community events, participating in professional associations, and meeting informally with government and business contacts Provide guidance to and assist junior staff members, such as Interns, Account Coordinators and Account Executives Additional duties as required What we offer: Competitive salary with opportunities for growth Benefits including comprehensive medical care, flexible spending accounts, paid time off and profit sharing Opportunities to work on impactful projects that affect the future of our state Opportunities to engage with some of the region's most influential stakeholders Requirements Qualifications Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Administration or similar required 3-5 years' experience in public relations or public outreach fields J-18808-Ljbffr
