A small logistics company in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced and qualified CFO.
Responsibilities
Oversee the following processes: Vendor payments Payroll Revenue recording & accounts receivable collection Cash forecasting Manage the company's accounting employees Record, pay & reconcile tax liabilities (Sales tax, payroll taxes, etc) Oversee vessel charter financial operations Participate in booking, pricing and ad hoc revenue collection Coordinate billing, expense reimbursement and client funding Supervise VAT and sales tax assessment, collection & remittance Ensure currency exchange conversions are recorded properly Manage the financial reporting process Engage with department heads to prepare the Annual Profit/Loss budget Monitor & analyze budget deviations Prepare and analyze monthly profit/loss statements Assist with planning for major capital improvements Provide ad hoc reports as necessary Develop & maintain company's system of internal controls to safeguard company assets & ensure compliance with legal and ethical business practices Perform account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data Provide financial training as appropriate Supervise the year-end closing process Interface with governmental & external auditors Maintain Chart of Accounts Remain current on industry trends, regulations & best practices in financial management Assist the President on financial and investment analyses & oversight Monitor derivative investment cash flows Assist in cash management decision making and reporting Track lending facilities principal & interest payments Assess funding needs for business units Participate in tax planning and associated financial planning Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 10+ years of accounting experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or Finance - CPA designation preferred 10+ years business experience Proficient in appropriate business software
