The company’s Waste Services division provides customized waste processing solutions for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste, including landfill diversion and sustainability programs, solidification of liquid waste, recycling, wastewater treatment, and waste sequestration. The company’s Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance. The company’s Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products. We are looking for an HR Generalist. The HR Generalist will oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and will manage a wide range of tasks, covering many aspects of day-to-day HR processes, including employee relations, onboarding, data entry HRIS system updates, leaves, benefits, report generation, and compliance. The successful candidate is a collaborative team member who will continually strive to move Environmental Solutions forward. This position will be onsite. Local candidates are preferred.
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR-related tasks, including but not limited to:
Coordinate various new hire processes such as I-9 compliance, background checks, and drug screen
Conducting new hire orientations and onboarding processes ensuring completion of necessary documentation
Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment
Update and maintain the HRIS system, ensuring accurate processing of employee data and transactions
Assist with FMLA claims
Support and manage employee relations issues by facilitating conflict resolution and addressing employment-related inquiries, escalating complex matters as needed
Facilitate and/or participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and human resources investigations
Track and document compliance with required training, including ethics, and anti-harassment programs
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Conduct research and analyze data for assigned projects
Process forms and generate documents such as offer letters, and handle DocuSign
Ensure job descriptions are up to date through regular reviews and revisions
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferable
Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of bachelor’s in human resources, business administration, or related field required
At least four years of proven experience as a human resources generalist or similar role
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
PHR, SPHR, SHRM or other HR certifications.
