DESCRIPTION:

As an IT Systems Administrator specializing in Patch Management, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining operating system (OS) patches and mitigating server and workstation vulnerabilities across Client infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring the security and compliance of Client's IT infrastructure, meeting corporate IT and cybersecurity standards while minimizing service disruptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer Microsoft server configurations, focusing on patch management to mitigate security risks.

Plan, test, and deploy patches systematically to minimize disruptions, while ensuring compliance with corporate IT security policies. Monitor and manage workstation and server patch compliance, intervening manually when necessary during scheduled maintenance windows. Troubleshoot patching issues and address failures in automated installations. Develop and maintain advanced automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, VBScript) to streamline patch deployment and vulnerability mitigation. Create and thoroughly test application packages and deployments, ensuring successful rollouts. Manage and configure maintenance windows for patching, balancing service availability and security. Troubleshoot application deployment issues and collaborate with ITSM teams to ensure accurate and complete delivery. Partner with the Vulnerability Management team to ensure comprehensive reporting and tracking of patch compliance. Generate detailed compliance reports by device and application type for management review. Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, with deep knowledge of Windows OS patch deployment, Windows registry, group policies, driver interaction within the OS, and unattended/silent installations. Experience supporting Windows Servers and VMware (vSphere, vCenter) in physical and virtual environments. Proven experience in troubleshooting and patch automation, leveraging tools like PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch scripting. Strong understanding of best practices in system security, patching, and vulnerability management. Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to rapidly gain and apply knowledge of Client vulnerability and patching processes. Willingness to travel up to 10% Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Experience with Rapid 7 Vulnerability management platform Experience with managing Microsoft Exchange, including high availability and database availability group (DAG) environments, on premise, Office 365, or hybrid environments Experience configuring and supporting Microsoft Failover Clustering Experience managing Backup and Recovery solutions such as Veem. Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server Experience with Zoom, Webex Meetings, Teams, Google Meet management experience Basic understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
