POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial reports, performing general ledger account reconciliations, monthly journal entries, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for maintaining and analyzing data related to the financial performance of the organization and individual departments. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for compiling and reporting information as requested by the financial auditors, tax auditors, and management. Must have strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include, but may not be limited to the following:
Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents Analyze financial reports Maintain account balances and bank statements Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance Prepare percentage of completion accounting files Prepare financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders Manage general ledger and assist month-end- and year-end close processes Assist the accounting department leadership in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers and executives Assist with various audits, including year-end audits (domestic and international), taxes, and research and development tax credits Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university required Certified Public Account (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred 5+ years of Accounting or Finance experience required Knowledge of percentage of completion accounting preferred but not required Previous experience with Epicor, Sage, QuickBooks or similar ERPs preferred Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced skiils in MS Office, including Excel knowledge (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, SUMIFs, etc.)
