License: Current RN License, multistate compact RN License, or Nursing License issued by State Board

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association

Must-Have: EKG interpretation skills, cardiovascular nursing experience

Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular unit on a night shift, with weekend requirements totaling 36 hours per week. The unit is a mixed cardiovascular floor with both Step-Down and Medical-Surgical patients. The RN will provide nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Key responsibilities include: - Assuming responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. - Assisting physicians in examinations and performing minor diagnostic procedures. - Monitoring physiological data and administering prescribed medications. - Interacting with patients and families to share care plans and hospital procedures. - Making patient care referrals to appropriate personnel and delegating tasks to support staff. - Interpreting EKGs, monitoring rhythms and rates, and collaborating on cardiac rehabilitation, education, and discharge planning.

Required skills and experience include: - Knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients.

Education requirements: - An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required. - A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
