Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Trauma

Experience: 1 year of experience. Prefer experience in Level 1 Trauma and cardiac. If candidates do not have Level 1 trauma experience, a combination of neuro and cardio will be considered.

License: Current RN License required.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Must-Have: Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills.

Description: Under general supervision, the RN provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Essential responsibilities include:

- Assuming responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; noting all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. - Assisting the physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtaining and monitoring physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations, and intervening when necessary. - Administering medication as prescribed. Initiating, regulating, and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products. - Delivering patient care competently. - Interacting with family and patient in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. - Informing patients and their families of hospital procedures. - Making referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegating tasks to support staff. - Performing other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
