Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Trauma ICU Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Trauma Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required License: Current RN License, or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in Level 1 Trauma and cardiac, or a combination of neuro and cardio. Prefer nurses with TNCC and TCRN.
Description: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with varying health issues from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities: - Manage an assigned group of patients - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders - Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures - Obtain, monitor, and respond to patient physiological data - Administer prescribed medication; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products - Deliver competent patient care - Communicate and share care plans with patients and families during hospital stay and discharge - Inform patients and families of hospital procedures - Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel - Delegate tasks to support staff
General Responsibilities: - Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services - Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to respond adaptively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors - Basic computer skills
Education: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing
Languages: - English (Speak, Read, Write)
