We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee the full spectrum of accounting, control, and reporting activities of our US entity. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic initiatives within the organization. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will manage a team of accounting professionals. The North America Controller also works closely with the regional accounting teams to develop standard processes and drive process improvements within the controllership organization.

What we'll get you doing:

Ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for US entity in compliance with US GAAP and Danaher Accounting Policies. Accountable for the accurate financial reporting of the US entity. Partner with Consolidation, FP&A teams and Corporate Controller to ensure timely and accurate submission of global results to Danaher corporation. Accountable for completion and the results for key compliance routines including SOX 404, account reconciliations, statutory accounting and reporting, internal and external audits, and balance sheet reviews. Ensure adequate controls are in place and followed such as delegation of authority, manual journal approvals, cash payment controls and others. Lead US revenue accounting operations, including close processes, margin and flux analysis, reporting, and reconciliation of revenue accounts. Review and approve customer orders and non-standard contracts. Provide guidance to the US revenue team on revenue recognition determinations. Prepare and review complex revenue analyses, including stand-alone selling price (SSP) calculations, multiple-element arrangements (MEA), revenue disaggregation, unfulfilled performance obligation (UPO) reporting, and lease classification testing. Act as a business partner to Commercial Sales, offering options and recommendations for deal structures and contract language to support revenue growth while ensuring accounting compliance. Educate Sales and other non-finance functions on revenue compliance and requirements. Oversee general ledger functions, tax compliance, and shared services (AR, AP and Payroll). Partner with shared services vendor to achieve working capital target and drive improvements. Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies. Complete Danaher's internal tax reporting packages and partner with the Tax team to ensure compliance with transfer pricing strategies. Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and high performance. Apply Danaher Business System (DBS) principles and tools to drive continuous improvements within the finance team. The essential requirements of the role include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with 9+ years experience OR Master's degree in with 7+ years experience. CPA or equivalent credential required Expertise in a managerial role within a publicly traded company, preferably with over 5 years at a Big 4 Firm. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP standards, particularly in revenue and lease accounting guidance (ASC 606 and ASC 842). Operational experience with revenue recognition is essential. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of expertise, including sales personnel, customer-facing individuals, finance staff, and executive management. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. Oracle), reporting tools, and strong proficiency with Excel. Experience in life science industry and manufacturing are highly desirable. Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.

The salary range for this role is $185,000 - $200,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
