Job Summary: Newberry Group seeks an
IT Business Analyst
with the ability to support the IT department of Frederick County, Maryland in the successful execution of various IT initiatives. The IT Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, create templates and project documentation, and provide training to staff. This role is critical to ensure effective project execution, facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams, and ensure that project deliverables meet the client's expectations.
Location: Frederick County, Maryland (onsite)
Primary Responsibilities: 1. Requirements Gathering: •Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather detailed business requirements. •Document and validate requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives. •Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices as appropriate. (This will be a deliverable for each open project.) •Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system interactions. •Develop detailed functional and technical requirements documentation. 2. Template and Document Creation: •Create standardized templates for project documentation, including requirements, reports, and training materials. •Develop comprehensive documentation to support project processes and deliverables. •Ensure all documents are reviewed and approved by relevant stakeholders. 3. Training •Develop training materials and user guides to support the implementation of IT solutions specific to the BA role. •Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users and stakeholders on the concepts in this SOW, including requirements gathering, project documentation, etc. •Provide ongoing support and training as needed to ensure successful adoption of IT solutions specific to the BA role. 4. Solution Design and Validation •Collaborate with members of technical staff to design IT solutions. •Validate proposed solutions against business requirements. •Assist in the development of test plans and test cases. 5. Project Support •Support project management activities, including project planning and scheduling. •Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. •Provide training and support to end-users during the implementation phase. 6. Project Management and Reporting •Weekly progress meetings with stakeholders. •Monthly status reports to the project sponsor. •Bi-weekly risk assessment meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: •A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field. •Previous Business Analyst experience with a minimum of five years of experience in the above areas of responsibility.
