We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team at Scott Rice Office Works, a leading Steelcase dealer that also provides comprehensive construction and flooring services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, business development, and relationship building within the commercial furniture, construction, or flooring sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker who is passionate about driving growth and expanding our presence in the market.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver exceptional solutions that meet client needs. You will work closely with our sales, design, and project management teams to create value for clients and drive long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify New Business Opportunities: Research and identify potential clients in need of Steelcase products, office furniture, construction services, and flooring solutions.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Building: Develop relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at all levels of client organizations. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
- Sales & Presentations: Lead client meetings, deliver presentations, and respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals). Effectively communicate the value proposition of Steelcase products and our construction and flooring services.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the design, project management, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to refine sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
- Proposal & Contract Management: Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Account Management: Maintain long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the commercial furniture, construction, or flooring industry.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with Steelcase products and/or commercial construction and flooring solutions is highly desirable.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to generate leads, close sales, and achieve revenue goals. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve client challenges creatively.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Collaboration: Strong team player with a collaborative approach to working across departments.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
