One of our clients in NY, needs a Assistant Engineer for a full time position.

Job Description

This position works under the supervision of a Project Engineer functioning as a team member by participating in all phases of a project. The Assistant Engineer is responsible for distinguishing concerns, identifying them and determining workable solutions to these concerns, as well as maintaining the optimum performance of a certain engineering system or design, as per direct interaction with the Project Engineer. Project sites are throughout North America, predominantly in the metropolitan NY & NJ area, New England and the Mid-Atlantic States. Project types include design of temporary support structures; shoring towers, trestles, temporary bridges, construction loading on structures, heavy transport; demolition & erection plans for buildings & bridges, alternative lifting operations, rigging design/analysis, and crane layout plans.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• E.I.T. certified or in pursuit
• Experience (2+ years)
• Minimum 3.25 GPA
• Experience in construction engineering or working for a contractor on heavy civil projects
• Proficiency with MathCAD and AutoCAD or similar software
