HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) is currently seeking a Digital Marketing Director to join the HarperChristian Resources (HCR) team. HCR’s mission is to equip people to understand the Scriptures, cultivate spiritual growth, and live an inspired faith with Bible study and video resources from today’s most trusted voices.
The Digital Marketing Director is a strategic and tactical leader in planning and executing digital marketing programs for HCR titles across a variety of digital platforms. This position will lead the development of our digital marketing strategy, along with the execution, tracking, and reporting of integrated digital marketing campaigns.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include developing online advertising, consumer targeting, consumer messaging, and SEO & keyword strategy for 40-50 frontlist titles annually, developing backlist/seasonal marketing campaigns, and managing HCR’s website, email, and social media strategy and tactical execution. This position will also be responsible for monitoring end-to-end execution of performance advertising campaigns to achieve KPIs—from planning and activation to reporting and optimization—along with weekly and monthly ROI analysis and reporting of results for each campaign and platform. This role will frequently collaborate with the other marketing team members in a coordinated approach to bring awareness to and engagement with our titles and authors.

The candidate is a data-driven marketer who understands how to leverage marketing budgets, data, and content to find the right audiences and meet or exceed sales goals. This candidate is a marketing innovator who inspires trust and confidence in internal and external stakeholders and is capable of handling multiple projects all at different stages in the marketing cycle with confidence and passion.
Our preference is to fill this position in Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI but we are also open to qualified candidates that are located outside of these areas. Travel is required based on the need of the business.

Responsibilities Digital Advertising
Develop advertising strategy, manage advertising budget, achieve ROAS/ROI targets, and develop weekly analytics reporting for HCR campaigns on key platforms such as Amazon, Google, YouTube, and Meta.
Collaborate with stakeholders using data to identify trends and opportunities for automated campaign activation.
Develop and maintain advertising reporting dashboards to provide internal customers with campaign insights.
Oversee HCR’s Amazon brand ads, brand stores, and product promotions.
Monitor and track progress of digital ad campaigns and make real-time adjustments.
Measure success, trends, and ROI of marketing initiatives.
Research and identify advertising platforms and/or advertising technology that may be useful to the business.
Brand Engagement
Oversee HCR’s brand website and curate content to increase domain authority, site traffic, email capture, time on site, conversions, referral sales, and backlinks.
Manage HCR’s email list and curate content to increase list size, opens, clicks, and conversions. Build, test, schedule, analyze, and report on results for weekly email sends.
Curate HCR’s Meta content, optimize content for engagement, and grow follower count.
Consult on best practices for HCR’s YouTube channel, optimizing for views and subscriber growth.
Proactively participate in weekly brand marketing meetings.
Collaborate with Audio team and key Retail sales reps to develop channel-specific strategies to increase HCR reach and sales in retail channels.
Participate in sales conference, executive team, and potential external partner presentations.
Team Support
Develop weekly and on-demand reports on ad performance, advertising spend, and KPIs for website, email, YouTube, and social media.
Lead ongoing development and implementation of processes to assist Marketing teams with planning and managing cross-channel digital advertising campaigns for frontlist products.
Oversee management of metadata projects (SEO & keyword strategy) with Editorial team.
Collaborate with HCCP Direct-to-Consumer brands ChurchSource, FaithGateway, and Study Gateway on shared initiatives like Shopping ads, catalogs, emails, promotions, affiliates, and referral sales.
Qualifications Work Experience/Knowledge:
8+ years in a marketing or related role
Google Certification in Search, Display, Video, and/or Shopping ads
Meta advertising
Amazon advertising experience a plus
Email management software
Website content management and basic HTML skills
Social media management software
Project management software
Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint
Basic design capabilities in Canva
Education:
Bachelor's in Marketing or related field
Industry Knowledge:
Required:
Knowledgeable in digital advertising & analytics best practices. Understanding of brand management, and audience development.
Preferred:
Experience in client-service role. Familiarity with book publishing. Understanding of the church leadership world, pastor and church leader felt needs and mindset.
Skills:
Analytical and metrics-based decision-making experience
Strong communication skills – both external communication to potential readers, as well as internal communication to facilitate the planning & execution of marketing strategies with core constituents including authors & agents.
Ability to translate data and trends into actionable strategies and improved business outcomes
Ability to develop testing methodologies and adjust strategy based on test results
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships and collaborate.Teamwork – this role works with integrated marketing plans and works cross-functionally with various team members throughout the organization.
Team management experience preferred
Must be able to work independently under tight deadlines
The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $120,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.
