Job Summary The CSU Help Desk is responsible for providing courteous, prompt, and accurate technical assistance to CSU students, faculty, staff in person, telephone, online requests (eQuest), and email. Help Desk student assistant responsibilities include initial assessment, triage, research, and resolution of basic incidents and requests regarding the use of technology, hardware, application software and/or infrastructure components. The ideal student for this position will be friendly, helpful, and willing to learn with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students; assist student within the lab using lab equipment, to include, computers, scanners, print release stations, and printers; assist students in the usage of general lab software; enforce all UITS computer lab rules; troubleshoot technical issues with mobile devices and computers; provide users with ongoing technical support by developing documentation; perform inventories and requisitioning equipment or supplies; maintaining complete records of daily activities, problems, and remedial action taken in a ticketing database and other duties assigned. Required Qualifications The applicant must have excellent customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills; the position requires a high level of problem-solving ability; the applicant must have the ability to work closely with students and team members; the applicant must be knowledgeable in the current technologies for supporting computer hardware and network issues and the applicant should be able to resolve common computer, software, and network issues and GPA greater than 2.5. Preferred Qualifications Personal computer repair and networking skills preferred. Proposed Salary The salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position will work up to 25 hours per week.
