We would like to add an experienced Concrete Engineer to our team to work within the established culture and guidelines of the Company.

Position Title: Concrete Engineer
Reports To: Concrete Superintendent
Status: Exempt
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Required Experience: 0 to 2 years
Salary Range: $90,000 to $105,000

Purpose of the Position:

The Concrete Engineer will assist in the facilitation of assigned subcontractors’ work. The Concrete Engineer is responsible for ensuring alignment with document management and schedule. Initial review of quality of work performed by assigned subcontractors for conformance to the contract documents.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review and process submittals and shop drawings till approved, coordinating submittals with contract documents
  • Detailing concrete outline drawings
  • Coordinate Inspections for all concrete work
  • Labor and production tracking
  • Surveying and Layout for concrete elements, block outs, and elevations
  • Assisting the Superintendent in coordinating the work, ordering materials including concrete material, coordinating deliveries
  • Take offs for all concrete pours, scheduling ready mix and pumping operations in concert with the GC and Concrete Superintendent
  • Project safety is a team effort; taking a lead on the project team’s health and wellness will be essential
  • Generation of RFIs to address conflicts in a solution orientated fashion
  • Perform field review of assigned work in place for conformance to the contract documents
  • Physical/digital project document control for Job Set-up including Project Surveys & Permits, Specifications, Drawings, Submittals, RFI’s (Logs) through Close-Out docs
  • Change Orders – assist in identifying changed conditions, tracking costs, managing field execution
  • Participation in daily and weekly ‘Delivery Schedule’, Logistics etc
  • Punch List
  • Meeting Minutes
  • Assistance with Schedule Updates

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Internship or prior work experience in a similar work environment is required.
  • Bachelor college degree, in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred; Technical or trade school degree or training favored.
  • Military - preferably Technical/Construction/Logistics background/ Leadership experience a plus
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate in Spanish will be beneficial
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is preferred:
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Microsoft 365 – Outlook (email) and cloud-based suite of productivity application like MS Teams
    • Microsoft Project or Primavera 6 for project scheduling
    • Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM 360 for 3D digital information and performance models
    • Bluebeam Revu – for PDF markup and collaboration tool
