Job Purpose
The Project Engineer will split their time between Project Management and Field Supervision. On the field side they will work directly for the superintendent to support the site activities including access, scheduling, deliveries, logistics, safety, quality and construction. On the Project Management side they will work on the planning, coordination, and completion of construction projects.

Essential Functions:
Project Management
- Assist with the accurate and timely management of all paperwork and coordination for assigned projects including pre-construction surveys, site logistics plan, and project punch list.
- Participate in internal team/huddle meetings.
- Process and log all submittals and manage through a timely review and approval process.
- Assist with the preparation of RFIs, ensuring they are vetted and formatted for easy design team response.
- Assist with the coordination of the project’s trade specific schedule to ensure information is flowing to maintain contractual requirements.
- Distribute sketches, shop drawings, submittals, schedules and punch lists to subcontractor and site superintendent in a timely fashion to maintain the project schedule.
Field Supervision
- Participate in pre-construction scheduling, logistics, and planning to document existing conditions and create simple logistics plans and schedules.
- Assist with maintaining and updating project schedules; produce daily reports and weekly updates including progress photos.
- Assist with maintenance of a complete and updated field set of documents, validate all subcontractor RFIs before submitting, and suggest no cost field resolutions where appropriate.
- Be an ambassador for Clune’s safety culture and OSHA standards to enforce a safe work environment and lead and document safety meetings.
- Coordinate field team, subcontractors, and owner vendors with proactive communication, and lead and document coordination and weekly foreman meetings.
- Recognize and work to resolve on-site challenges and issues for a timely resolution with minimum cost impact.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- The Project Engineer will mentor and train Field Assistants and Interns.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that will be utilized to hold discussions with various members of Clune and clients
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Understanding of team roles and responsibilities, internally and externally
- Growing understanding of how to read drawings and specs
- Understanding of how to read construction schedules and how they are built
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering a plus
- Background in construction a plus
