Workday Financials Systems Analyst


Location: San Francisco, Chicago, Cambridge MA

IDEO is in search of a Workday Financials Systems Analyst who will partner with our Finance teams to help drive our reporting & business intelligence capabilities to the next level. This role reports directly to Steve Klopf, Executive Director of ERP Programs.
In a Nutshell:
IDEO is in search of a talented and seasoned Workday Financials Systems Analyst to bolster our team. As an integral part of our Finance-driven support group, you will be responsible for the support, development and maintenance of the financials systems including Workday and Adaptive Planning. You will work with finance, business operations and IT stakeholders to understand requirements, configure, and test Workday to meet the finance technology needs of the company.
We are especially excited to meet candidates with previous B2B or professional services experience. This role will work cross-functionally with the North American Hub Leaders, IDEO North America Partners, Local Hub Business Development teams, external contractors, Finance & Tech professionals within IDEO’s infrastructure.
This hire MUST be based within 2 hours of ground transportation to one of our North America Studios. IDEO proudly supports flexible work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday-related inquiries, troubleshooting and support for end-users across the organization
  • Collaborate with accounting, Finance and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity and compliance within Workday and related systems
  • Configure and maintain Workday modules, including but not limited to Core Financials, Expense, Projects Billing, Adaptive Insights, and Time Tracking
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements and implementations, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to business processes
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards and analytics to provide insights into HR data and trends
  • Collaborate with developers to design, configure, and test integrations between Workday and external systems
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes and enhance system functionality to improve overall efficiency
  • Collaborate with external partners and consultants when necessary to implement new features or modules
  • Provide training to end-users on Workday system usage, best practices and new features
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and new Workday releases to recommend and implement improvements

Qualifications / Experience:
  • 2-4 years of Workday Finance experience: Core Accounting, Expense administration, and Adaptive Insights, including configuration, security and report development
  • Foundational understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with Workday integrations and data management, particularly Power BI & Hubspot
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Workday Certified Professional designation preferred
  • Project management experience

Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $85,000 USD. This range is influenced by a wide range of factors considered in compensation decisions at IDEO. This includes, but is not limited to: skills, industry knowledge, and experience. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience & expertise, and other factors.
