Associate Attorney Creditor Rights

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its growing team, specializing in creditor rights, including real estate, eviction, foreclosure, and bankruptcy law. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage a caseload in a dynamic and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have up to 5 years of experience in creditor rights law and will be able to contribute to both litigation and transactional matters.
Duties
Represent clients, including banks, lenders, investors, and foreclosure trustees, in various creditor rights matters such as foreclosure, unlawful detainer, and bankruptcy cases. Appear in court to argue motions and represent clients in contested foreclosure, unlawful detainer, title curative, and other related litigation. Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and Rule 11 agreements. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case status and ensure alignment on legal strategy. Manage a diverse caseload of both routine and contested matters, focusing on the representation of secured creditors. Utilize case management systems and client platforms to track case progress and maintain thorough documentation. Requirements
0-5 years of experience in creditor rights law, with a focus on real estate, eviction, foreclosure, and bankruptcy matters. Strong knowledge of California creditor rights law, including mortgage default/collections, unlawful detainer, and foreclosure procedures. Previous experience in handling replevin, collections litigation, and foreclosure mediations is preferred. Ability to independently manage court appearances, litigation tasks, and creditor representation with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear, concise legal writing and effective client interaction. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. A portable book of business is a plus. Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications
Admission to practice law in California is required. Admission to practice law in other states is a plus. Skills
Proficiency in drafting legal pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Ability to conduct legal research and stay current on relevant case law. Strong court appearance experience, including arguing motions and managing litigation. Knowledge of case management systems and client platforms.
