Nurse 2
position. This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at Range 22 (N2). The mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes is: "Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath." This position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to one hundred seventy-seven (177) elder residents. What You Will Be Doing: Provide high-quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. The Benefits to Joining Our Team: Offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus, to be paid in two equal installments of $5,000, minus mandatory deductions. The Working Environment You Can Expect: This job is in the Anchorage Pioneer Home, an assisted living home at 923 W 11th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. Who We Are Looking For: Considerable knowledge and skill of the principles and practices of nursing. Ability to observe and evaluate reactions and changes in the physical, behavioral, and mental condition of patients. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients. Ability to administer treatments and medications and observe for and report adverse reactions. Ability to maintain records and to prepare clear, concise reports. Minimum Requirements: Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND EITHER Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska; OR One year of entry-level experience as a Registered Nurse. Special Note: This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility. Some positions may require the successful applicant to pass a background investigation. At time of interview, applicant must provide: Two (2) professional references and three (3) character references with current contact information. If selected and prior to hire, applicant will be asked to: Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening. Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available.
