Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Liability, Commercial, Employment, and/or Financial Services litigation. This role offers the opportunity to engage in complex legal matters and contribute to the firm's success through exceptional client service and innovative legal solutions. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to general liability, commercial, employment, and financial services litigation. Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and other court documents in state and federal courts. Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations. Engage in trial preparation, including developing case strategies, witness preparation, and evidence management. Conduct negotiations and manage discussions with high-level clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop and implement case strategies. Participate in client development activities and maintain a proactive approach to managing client relationships. Manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently, ensuring all tasks are completed timely and to a high standard. Stay current with changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients. Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to the firm’s growth and success. Requirements:
A minimum of 2-5 years of prior experience in General Liability, Commercial, Employment, and/or Financial Services litigation in a law firm setting or business equivalent is required. Proven experience with complex legal research, analysis, and writing, particularly with briefing in state and federal courts. Preferred trial experience in state and/or federal courts, with experience as first or second chair. Experience in arbitration and mediation. Strong oral communication skills, with the ability to handle complex negotiations and discussions. Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on client development and practice management. Efficient time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Collaborative approach and ability to work well within a team. Licensed to practice law in Ohio; additional state licenses are a plus. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Strong academic credentials. Certifications:
An active member of the Ohio State Bar. Additional bar admissions in other states are advantageous. Skills:
Exceptional legal research, analysis, and writing abilities. Excellent trial preparation and courtroom skills. Strong negotiation and client management capabilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software. A high degree of professionalism and ethical standards.
