Job Summary:
The Finance Director will be responsible for managing the financial operations of Austin Catholic High School, ensuring the school's financial health and compliance with all relevant regulations. The role involves overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, and strategic financial planning in alignment with the mission and values of Austin Catholic High School.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the school's annual budget
Prepare monthly financial reports for the Finance Committee
Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing recommendations for improvements
Accounting and Compliance:
Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as diocesan policies
Manage the annual audit process and prepare necessary documentation
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the administration to develop long-term financial strategies
Assess financial implications of strategic initiatives and capital projects
Financial Aid and Tuition Management:
Oversee the financial aid process, including budgeting and distribution of funds
Develop and manage tuition payment plans, ensuring clarity and accessibility for families
Communication and Collaboration:
Work closely with the President, Finance Committee, Principal, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees to promote financial transparency
Serve as a liaison to parents and the community regarding financial matters
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Working Conditions:
Office environment with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed for school events or board meetings
Interaction with students, parents, staff, and the broader community
