The Director of Finance and Operations will oversee all financial and operational aspects of The Science & Arts Academy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong financial management and operations understanding with a commitment to creating the systems and structures to support an innovative school designed for gifted students.
Applications will be reviewed starting in December. Candidates who are being considered will be contacted by mid January. The position will begin in the spring.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the school's goals and overall vision. Work closely with the Head of School and Director of Admissions to achieve effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Manage cash flow, investments, and risk assessment. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards. Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare Finance Committee agenda and reports. Human resource oversight including benefits, salary schedule, etc. Manage financial aid requests. Coordinate Finance Committee meetings. Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement operational policies and procedures. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships. Oversee facilities management and maintenance. Monitor and manage risk and insurance programs. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial and operational role. Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and risk management. Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis. Experience in operations management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Job Type:
