Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Finance/Accounting Fellow to join our team for a one-year Finance Fellowship. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience under the mentorship of Fraym's Director of Accounting and finance. This fellowship will allow you to build practical skills in finance and accounting processes while contributing to meaningful work in a dynamic organization.
What to expect in the role: Data Entry and Analysis : Recording financial transactions, organizing data, and using Excel or other financial tools to analyze data patterns or trends. Financial Reporting : Assisting with preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. This may involve gathering and verifying data for accuracy. Budgeting Support : Supporting budget preparation and monitoring by helping track spending against budgeted amounts, updating spreadsheets, and conducting variance analysis. Accounts Payable and Receivable : Assisting with processing invoices, tracking payments, following up on outstanding invoices, and helping prepare aging reports or reconcile accounts. Financial Modeling and Dashboards : Learning to build or update financial models and dashboards under supervision, which may involve forecasting revenues, costs, or cash flows. (Power Bi) Expense Tracking and Reconciliation : Assisting with daily or monthly reconciliations to ensure that transactions are accurately recorded and match supporting documents. Research : Conducting research on financial trends, industry data to support the finance team’s decision-making. Assisting with Audits : Supporting internal or external audit preparations by organizing records, ensuring documentation accuracy, and verifying compliance with policies. Process Improvement : Assisting with identifying ways to streamline finance processes, such as by automating tasks or improving data accuracy. Ad Hoc Projects : Working on special projects that could range from cost analysis, system cross-checks, competitor benchmarking, or presentations for financial reviews. Learning and Development : Actively participating in training sessions, shadowing experienced team members, and familiarizing themselves with financial software and tools. Qualifications: Pursuing or recently obtained a degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting. Solid understanding of financial terms, concepts, and principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with project manager systems (like ClickUp, Asana, etc) and internal communication tools (Slack, Teams, etc) Experience with financial tools like Netsuite, Quickbooks, and PowerBi Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Working at Fraym: Compensation for this fellowship is $25/hour, and 15 to 20 hours per week is expected. This position is a remote-first position, but preference is given to candidates in the Washington, DC, area who can commute to the office periodically. Candidates must be located within the United States.
