Alumni Association Associate Vice Chancellor's Office Summary of Job Duties:
This position serves as the Director of Finance for the Arkansas Alumni Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. This is a senior-level role responsible for finance and revenue operations of the association. Department-Specific Responsibilities: Responsible for the development of business plans and financial strategies to advance organizational goals and priorities; leads staff in development of departmental budgets and analyzes financial trends to accurately budget revenue and expenses. Expense budget is approximately $4M. Supervises the Alumni Business Office team; monitors all financial and accounting activities, making improvements and establishing new policies/procedures as needed. Provides organizational and financial counsel to the Alumni Association Executive Director, members of the National Board of Directors and members of the Division of Advancement. Responsible for external audit, 990 tax returns, tax filings, financial policies, investments, and other related fiscal responsibilities. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, government regulations (federal, state and local) and assessing risk for the organization. Oversees revenue generation programs for the association. Serves as staff liaison to the Finance Committee, a volunteer committee that provides oversight on key financial functions. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field At least five years related functional experience At least three years of management experience in related field Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree At least 7 years related functional experience At least five years of management experience in related field At least three years in non-profit management or accounting Workday Experience Experience with Salesforce and Affinaquest Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism and commitment to quality Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task Excellent collaboration and team building skills Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills Ability to represent UA and AAA with external constituents such as board members, donors, and alumni volunteers Intermediate accounting skills and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to clearly present financial material and statements, different budgetary models, and make it accessible to a variety of audiences Additional Information: Salary Information:
