Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Life Sciences Department invites highly qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position to teach lecture and laboratory courses in Cellular and Molecular Biology for majors, as well as Anatomy and/or Physiology for allied health students. Responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality instruction and mentorship to a diverse student population Maintaining academic relevance through literature review and research activities Participating in exemplary course and materials development Collaboration with colleagues to continuously update and strengthen courses and programs Maintaining office hours Participating in departmental meetings and faculty evaluations Engaging in staff development programs Contributing to academic and career advisement Participating in college governance and committees Demonstrating a commitment to developing instructional strategies that address equity gaps. Minimum Qualifications Possess a Master's degree from an accredited institution in any biological science OR Bachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR the equivalent Must have evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the socio-economic, academic, cultural and ethnic diversity within the community college student population. Preferred Qualifications PhD, EdD, or MD training and/or experience in cellular biology, molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, and related allied health programs Demonstrated skills in teaching biological science courses at the college level Computer literacy and experience developing technology-related teaching methods Knowledge of experiential learning and interactive teaching methods Recent experience working with racially minoritized students and a willingness to use culturally responsive instructional practices.
