The Opportunity The Head of Asset Management - North America (NA) provides leadership and sets direction for all leasing, asset management and fleet operations for all NA-based Munich Re offices. The successful individual works closely with the global network of professionals in the division and reports to the Head of Real Estate and Services – NA Region. Related responsibilities include high level negotiations and asset monitoring / reporting that furthers the business goals of the company at large. Additionally, this role implements global and regional strategies for environmental sustainability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities of this position include: Partner with internal customers and leaders to develop and deliver superior real estate and facilities solutions. Creating value by supporting the business goals of the company, alignment with organizational culture, and the attraction and retention of high quality talent by providing collaborative, modern working environments across the NA Region. Provide oversight and execution for lease management (as an occupier and as a landlord), lease administration, asset management and fleet management across the NA region. Management of all Real Estate leases, acquisitions and sub-leased properties including site selection, contract negotiations, audits, and risk management reviews ensuring compliance with state, local and federal regulations and laws. Drive NA region’s digitalization and system integration across the global real estate and services network. Ensure “Leasing/CREM” continuous improvement measures are derived and aligned in accordance with KPIs regionally and globally. Develop a strong, strategic, and collaborative relationship with Central Procurement, Legal counsel, Risk Management, and HR to ensure operational efficiencies and cost savings at a Local and Regional level. Manage outsourced operations and service delivery within leasing, asset management and fleet management. Budget management and control of rent, subsidies, reimbursements, and operating expenses. Oversee and mentor any direct reports and team members. Serve as primary RES business partner for The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company including providing direct, on-site oversight for One State Street, Hartford, CT. Maintain the “green” energy savings/carbon neutral approach to building management and all related facilities (solar panels, charging stations, LEED certification, smart lighting and building management). Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience within corporate real estate and/or commercial real estate. Significant knowledge and expertise in leasing, asset management, space planning, capital projects, property management, etc. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written at all levels within the organization. Ability to manage through crisis events, working under pressure, directing operational recovery activities, and managing facilities & life safety at recovery site. Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving acumen to accomplish operational goals, project work, technical challenges and general customer and stakeholder requests. Solid technical acumen and professional skills and knowledge in areas of functional responsibility to conduct and manage everyday business operations and generate innovative solutions. Comprehensive negotiation skills and in depth understanding of contracts, commercial terms, real estate leases and general legal language. Vendor management experience a plus. Intercultural and global experience in complex organizations a plus. Ability to build strong customer and service delivery focused teams, fostering cohesion and collaboration among team members that are highly productive and engaged within the organizations diverse culture.
