Position:

Associate – Senior, Unitranche, Subordinated Debt & Equity Investments

Company Overview

Our client is an alternative investment management firm focused on private credit and equity co-investment strategies for middle market companies (target companies typically have $3 million to $50 million of EBITDA). Our client employs a multi-product strategy approach that spans the balance sheet including first and second lien senior debt, unitranche debt, mezzanine debt, and equity capital. This ability to invest across the entire capital structure results in highly competitive financing products that facilitate a sustainable competitive advantage.

Position Responsibilities

Seeking investment professionals to comprehensively analyze investment opportunities across the entire capital structure and drive the deal execution process. Specific responsibilities will include:

New Platform and Add-on Investment Opportunities:

Initial Evaluation; Due Diligence; Financial Modeling; Underwriting and presentation of transaction opportunities to investment committee; Review and negotiate transaction proposals and legal documentation.

Co-Investment and Syndications:

Coordinate and participate in the sell-side syndication efforts; Continue to manage post-closing communication with loan participants.

Portfolio Management:

Interface with portfolio company management, P.E. sponsors and syndicated loan partners; monitor portfolio companies' financial and operating performance.

Other Responsibilities:

Marketing and Deal origination support; participate in fund vehicle investor limited partner interaction and fundraising; mentoring of junior professionals.

Qualifications

Associates possess exceptional critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Specifically, the most competitive candidate profiles feature:

One to three years of professional experience prior to the targeted start date (investment banking, senior cash flow, mezzanine debt lending and private equity experience).

Highly developed business curiosity.

Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and discretion.

Proven track record of leadership and achievement.

Entrepreneurial drive – desire to be a member of a growing business and contribute to its success.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

Exceptional financial analysis and complex modeling skills.

High proficiency in database and primary research.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
