Overview
Hamilton Mayer International are pleased to be working in close partnership with a prominent global construction firm as they seek a seasoned Project Director to lead the execution of complex heavy civil infrastructure projects exceeding $500 million in value. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and transit systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Establish and maintain rigorous project schedules, mitigating risks and optimizing resource allocation to achieve timely delivery.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges.
- Build and lead high-performing project teams, fostering collaboration and motivating team members to achieve project goals.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Project Management would be an added bonus but not essential.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with an established track record in executing large-scale projects successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including both union and open-shop workforce, whilst managing complex projects; which may include demanding owners sometimes.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Please note that this is a demanding role requiring some travel and extended work hours.
