Environmental Energy & Resources Associate Attorney

Join a prestigious international law firm as the Environmental Energy & Resources Associate Attorney. Based in Washington, DC, this position is ideal for candidates with a passion for environmental law and a background in regulatory compliance and litigation. You will handle complex legal matters involving the Clean Air Act and other environmental regulations, working closely with seasoned attorneys to deliver exceptional service and outcomes for our clients.

Salary: $235,000.00 - $310,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on complex issues focusing primarily on the Clean Air Act and associated environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys to offer strategic advice on regulatory compliance, policy developments, and potential impacts on client operations.
  • Represent clients effectively in administrative proceedings and enforcement actions, ensuring adherence to all procedural and substantive laws.
  • Engage in thorough legal research and draft precise legal documents required for case preparation and court proceedings.
  • Interact with clients to keep them informed of case progress and provide continuous legal support throughout the resolution process.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a prominently ranked law school and excellent academic records.
  • Currently licensed to practice law in the required jurisdiction.
  • 2-4 years of experience specializing in environmental law, especially with the Clean Air Act.
  • Demonstrated ability in strong legal writing, effective advocacy, and utmost commitment to client service.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary for client consultations and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A federal judicial clerkship or similar experience demonstrating familiarity with judicial processes and legal protocol.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of additional environmental regulations beyond the Clean Air Act.
  • Proven track record of successful client representations in administrative settings.
  • Expertise in formulating regulatory compliance strategies for complex environmental cases.
