SQL Developer

Primary Responsibilities and Duties Design stable, reliable, and effective databases Optimize and maintain legacy systems Modify databases according to requests and perform tests Solve database usage issues and malfunctions Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices Gather user requirements and identify new features Develop technical and training manuals Provide data management support to users Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols Desired Skills and Qualifications 5 years' experience in a data position (DBA, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Developer) In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring) Experience with software development - creating normalized transactional databases for web applications Hands on experience with T-SQL (SQL Server), ANSI SQL and Microsoft Azure Familiarity working with PowerShell and JavaScript Excellent analytical and organization skills An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. SSRS, PowerBI, R) Proven ability to design and implement Extract, Transformation and Loading processes (using SSIS) Demonstrated success working in large technology initiatives with enterprise level impact Functions well in a team environment. High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and creativity with proven ability to coordinate with peers Excellent verbal and written skills; technically astute, and up to date on latest technologies Familiarity with enterprise data governance strategies Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (Preferred) 2 years' experience with Agile Framework (Preferred)
