Primary Responsibilities and DutiesDesign stable, reliable, and effective databasesOptimize and maintain legacy systemsModify databases according to requests and perform testsSolve database usage issues and malfunctionsLiaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practicesGather user requirements and identify new featuresDevelop technical and training manualsProvide data management support to usersEnsure all database programs meet company and performance requirementsResearch and suggest new database products, services and protocolsDesired Skills and Qualifications
5+ years' experience in a data position (DBA, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Developer)In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring)Experience with software development - creating normalized transactional databases for web applicationsHands on experience with T-SQL (SQL Server), ANSI SQL and Microsoft AzureFamiliarity working with PowerShell and JavaScriptExcellent analytical and organization skillsAn ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitudeFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g. SSRS, PowerBI, R)Proven ability to design and implement Extract, Transformation and Loading processes (using SSIS)Demonstrated success working in large technology initiatives with enterprise level impactFunctions well in a team environment.High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and creativity with proven ability to coordinate with peersExcellent verbal and written skills; technically astute, and up to date on latest technologiesFamiliarity with enterprise data governance strategiesEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (Preferred)2+ years' experience with Agile Framework (Preferred)
