The Office of Admissions is hiring an Admissions Counselor! This position is the primary point of contact for students, the public, and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships. The Office of Admissions is a fast-paced office that welcomes a wide variety of students, staff, faculty, and their families to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Our office is dynamic, fun, and collaborative. The Admissions Counselor is a core part of our team and counsels prospective and recently admitted students on the transfer process and opportunities at the University. The responsibilities of this position include customer service, administrative support, and application processing.

We’re looking for someone with strong organizational skills and a knack for public speaking who can confidently talk about all that UAF has to offer—whether it’s academic programs, financial aid, residence life, student services, or advising. If you have leadership experience, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to coordinate events both big and small, we’d love to hear from you!
This role is perfect for a team player who can also work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and bring creative ideas to the table. You’ll need to maintain confidentiality, adapt to diverse audiences, and present UAF in a positive, engaging way. Strong cross-cultural communication skills, a student-centered ethic, and a willingness to travel are essential.
Other qualifications include:
Experience with event coordination, public speaking, and interpersonal communication.
Familiarity with tools like word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
A background in higher education, customer service, or program coordination.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required and two years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Two years’ experience working with people in a business setting or helping environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and
