Essential Job Functions

As part of the greater Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development (LRD) Department, the Washington, DC Legal Education & Development Coordinator is responsible for support of local attorney training and development initiatives, with a focus on administrative program coordination functions in the DC office. Legal Education & Development runs legal learning curriculums and firmwide training and development delivery, including performance management, event planning, CLE compliance, and logistics of Kirkland University attorney training programs, and Summer Associate Program workshops.

Primary responsibilities of the DC Legal Education & Development Coordinator include, but are not limited to proactively handling day-to-day training program logistics and coordination, scheduling and planning events (educational meetings, panels, workshops) maintaining up-to-date program calendars, files, and budget documentation, analyzing personnel data spreadsheets and updating program attendance documents and listservs accordingly, drafting correspondence and invites to program participants, preparing talking points for training programs, performing research and analysis, assisting with attorney CLE and bar licensure compliance, and general administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.) Coordinate all aspects of attorney and summer associate training programs, event planning and logistics, calendars, and appropriate updates; including invitations, room reservations, catering, and materials preparation; coordinating closely with the Conference Center and other teams to move planning for events forward, as directed by the Legal Education & Development Manager. Respond to department communications and attorneys with accurate information in a timely manner and address time-sensitive issues. Attend DC Legal Recruiting & Development Department staff meetings and other administrative planning meetings and provide related notes to facilitate appropriate coordination. Coordinate projects for Legal Education and Development team and related administrative duties including survey reports, nametags; organizing, copying, and distributing materials; DC bar registration process; expenses, check requests, and LED credit-card statements. Keep current all data entry in the Firm's databases including CE Manager, Kirkland's LMS, and viDesktop, and related monitoring and reporting to spreadsheets for tracking purposes. Coordinate legal education tasks related to CLE including tracking compliance deadlines, maintaining reports, and sending notifications to attorneys barred in DC and Virginia; assist with CLE audits, and CLE credit tracking in the Firm's Continuing Education Management System. Administer new hire/lateral hire onboarding and departing attorneys as it relates to bar licensure, and CLE accreditation and compliance. Proctor CLE programs, and process and maintain attendance records. Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements to reduce risk, maintain, and promote the integrity of Kirkland's CLE compliance, and improve efficiency. Collaborate with and support the DC and Firmwide LED teams; build and foster working relationships. Special projects as assigned, as activities designated to the Legal Education & Development Coordinator will continue to evolve and shift as needed based on the needs of LRD strategy or in support of LRD leadership. Education, Work Experience, Skills

Bachelor's degree required. 3+ years' experience in law firm, and CLE experience preferred. Excellent oral and written grammar, proofreading and communications skills, strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, time management, and planning skills. Experience working with people at all levels with a high degree of collaboration, accuracy, professionalism, and accountability, ability to ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent interpersonal skills, judgment, and use of critical thinking to solve problems, ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and a professional demeanor. Ability to work overtime, as needed. Technical experience should include the Microsoft Office Suite including high proficiency in Excel and Outlook required (skills must include facility with formulas, pivot tables, and functions to process high volumes of data accurately and efficiently). The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Washington D.C. - $70,000 -$93,000
