Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic cardiovascular surgery team at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As a CV Surgery APP, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after cardiovascular surgery, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons in pre-operative evaluations, surgical planning, and post-operative management.
  • Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform pre-operative assessments, physical exams, and develop care plans for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular surgeries.
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and other cardiovascular surgical procedures and provide immediate post-operative care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging, and other relevant assessments.
  • Participate in hospital rounds, surgical case discussions, and patient care meetings.
  • Document and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or nursing, with an active NP or PA certification.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Wyoming (or ability to obtain).
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Prior experience in cardiovascular surgery or critical care required.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, surgical interventions, and post-operative care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
