JOB OVERVIEW **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Sr. Associate AD/CFO or Executive Sr. Associate AD/CFO (Sr. Business Officer). The position's rank will be determined based on the final candidate's experience and qualifications. Reporting directly to the Athletic Director, the position will be part of the Athletics' Executive Team. This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.
The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the Department of Athletics and direct a broad range of activities and functions to ensure effective operations and achievement of organization objectives while complying with University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations. Areas of oversight will include Budget/Business Office, Capital Projects, Human Resources, team and business travel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for long-range financial and strategic planning as well as overseeing the day-to-day business operations. Formulate budget and monitor expenditures in accordance with university rules, and federal and state regulations. Responsible for the management of complex budgets, including general funds and development funds. Advise college/unit leadership and other leaders in the university on financial and administrative matters. Ensure effective operation of the school/unit's finances and administrative operations in order to achieve objectives. Responsible for ensuring the college/unit is following appropriate spending, contracting and reconciliation protocols. Provide regular budget and expense reports for each area within the college/unit. May manage Human Resources function to ensure that the college/unit has an appropriate and diverse workforce. Primary operations officer for college/unit, assuming responsibility of space planning and renovations. May manage technology strategies and operations for the college/unit. Evaluate operational activities to ensure compliance and make recommendations. Manage and direct special projects on behalf of the Dean/unit Vice President or Vice Provost. Serve as liaison with internal and external constituents. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff. Perform related duties based on departmental need.
REQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree must be in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Seven (7) years of relevant work experience to include three (3) years supervision.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED Master's Degree/MBA. Experience managing large, complex budgets and financials within higher education. The ideal candidate will have experience in Division I college athletics. The position requires some evening and weekend hours.
