Overview and Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Program Director (PD) for the Latin American Sisters Programs supports the development and implementation of St. Mary’s University degree initiation and degree completion programs for unique international student cohorts of Latin American Sisters. The duties and responsibilities of the position require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized, technical knowledge in Teaching and Education as follows: Overseeing and guiding the integration of this new intercultural, multi-level (graduate, undergraduate, and continuing professional education) Latin American Sisters’ program into core academic, financial, and IT processes at the University Collaborating with the Assocaite Dean of Health and Human Services in the areas of course scheduling, faculty communications, and liaison work with Catholic Extension and other partnering organizations. Teaching up to three 8-week courses per year for the program. Ongoing program management and improvement: Monitoring achievement towards program goals through effective project management of program enrollment and resources, efficient operations, and relationships with funding partners. Supporting all key department operations such as tracking statistics, proper file documentation, data entry, strategic planning, budget oversight, and program assessment. Making ongoing recommendations to the Assistant Dean of Health and Human services for the improvement and enhancement of operations, systems, processes, and policies. Providing personalized attention to each student member through advocacy, academic coaching, programmatic planning, organizing these elements to ensure seamless operation of academic programs (both online and face-to-face) and extracurricular activities relative to the periods of residency. Serving as ongoing point of contact for Sisters between residency periods utilizing a variety of communication methods to optimize student success and support. Orienting and training faculty on best practices for teaching Spanish speaking Catholic Sisters from Latin American countries. Working closely with multiple departments, organizations, and faculty to support student success and persistence endeavors, including the development of processes, programs, and workshops to support the needs of Spanish speaking student cohorts and provide appropriate translation, orientation and training as needed. This position requires 27.5% travel to the Minneapolis campus and 10% travel for brief domestic and international residencies. Qualifications
Requirements: Master's degree in Education or Teaching. Experience in instructional design and ability to apply knowledge of Catholic Studies to the curricula Experience with online pedagogy and technologically mediated communication tools Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish Significant familiarity with Latin American culture Experience working collaboratively with diverse constituents Understanding of the mission, culture, and context of the Catholic Church in Latin America and its social programs A practicing Catholic with passionate support of Catholic ministry and leadership Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Application Requirements
