The Director of Operations will oversee and enhance all aspects of Boss International Group’s (BIG) warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role involves leading operational teams, optimizing processes, and driving strategic initiatives to support growth in domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate will excel in leadership, problem-solving, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while aligning operations with the company’s mission and long-term goals.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop warehouse teams to ensure alignment with departmental and company goals. Implement training programs, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain high standards and compliance with company policies. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment to drive operational excellence. Operational Oversight: Supervise all warehouse activities, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor operational budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to meet company objectives. Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for optimal productivity and quality control. Customer Satisfaction: Address and resolve customer service issues, ensuring timely and accurate handling of complaints. Collaborate with the Direct-to-Consumer team to meet fulfillment requirements for online marketplaces and enhance the customer experience. Strategic Planning and Innovation: Evaluate opportunities to expand BIG’s domestic and international distribution footprint. Drive the design and implementation of innovative strategies to improve production and operations efficiency. Partner with cross-functional teams to align warehouse operations with broader organizational objectives. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards across all warehouse operations. Minimize handling and cargo damages by implementing robust safety protocols. Monitor and enforce carrier and facility compliance with established policies and procedures. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, assess, and control operational activities. Lead team meetings to communicate updates, performance metrics, and organizational requirements effectively. Oversee the timely creation and submission of reports from management teams.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field. 7+ years of management experience in warehousing, logistics, or international shipping. Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation and data-driven decision-making abilities. Knowledge of logistics practices, principles, and techniques. Valid driver’s license and passport. Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish and English). Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain technologies.
